Given her ten years of experience performing liposuction and her extensive laser background, Dr. Hamilton has been selected by Palomar Medical to be a physician trainer for their new laser liposuction technology. The new SlimLipo™ laser will revolutionize the way that liposuction is done. Dr. Hamilton is the first physician in the Atlanta area to have this laser available.

The word SLIM™ stands for Selective Laser Induced Melting. The SlimLipo™ is unique in laser wavelengths of 924 and 975 nm. The importance of these wavelengths is that they are very selective for fat and dermal tissue.

In patients with smaller fat deposits we can melt the fat with the tiny SlimLipo™ laser fiber without the need for suctioning. This means less bruising, less trauma, and quick recovery. This is particularly effective for the neck and jowls and may replace the need for a neck and lower facelift.

In patients with larger areas of fat, the SlimLipo™ laser fiber is first used to dissolve the fat which is then easily extracted with power assisted liposuction. The SlimLipo™ allows more fat to be extracted and the laser energy also helps to tighten the overlying skin and prevent bleeding. Tightening of the skin greatly enhances our ability to treat arms and lower abdomens. In fact, oftentimes a tummy tuck is no longer needed with the new SlimLipo™.

This equates to the SlimLipo™ melting fat 3 times more than SmartLipo™ 1064nm and 5 times more than the 1320nm laser used in the CoolLipo™ device.

We also can blend in a 980nm laser wavelength with the Aspire™ which is highly absorbed by the Dermis-the deep layer of your skin which controls skin tightening. For you this translates into:
