Ultherapy

Our office is pleased to be offering a new cosmetic technology, Ultherapy, as an option to patients who are looking to treat skin laxity without having a surgical procedure performed. A single treatment will rejuvenate and strengthen collagen in the skin. Treatments can be performed to give a more defined jawline and a sleeker neck. Also, treatments on the upper face can open the eyes and give the appearance of a browlift.

The new Ultherapy procedure is unique because it approaches energy delivery through ultrasound energy instead of radiofrequency or light. Because of this technology advancement the device is able to safely reach temperatures necessary to create new collagen in the superficial muscular aponeutrotic system (SMAS) which was previously only accessible during a surgical facelift.

During treatment, a handpiece is used to deliver ultrasound energy across the face below the surface of the skin. Heating the tissue causes both a contraction and collagen denaturation, which initiates tissue repair and leads to new collagen forming. The results of the procedure are a natural lifting and tightening of the skin. The results can take from 3 to 6 months to appear, creating a gradual, more youthful look.
